On COVID-19 Stimulus Payments, Tax Season and More
It’s hard to believe it’s been a full year of living in a global pandemic. Exciting changes are coming, and we’re all looking forward to the day things can be close to normal, as soon as that is safely possible.
That said, there is a lot happening in our nation right now, and I wanted to communicate some important information to members. Read on to learn more about stimulus payments, tax season and continued COVID-19 diligence.
As you may know, Americans will be receiving another round of stimulus payments in March 2021. Below are answers to questions you may have regarding yours.
When will I receive my payment? // How much will I receive/why is the amount not what I expected? // Will I receive a check or direct deposit?
As much as TruStone would love to tell you when you can expect to receive your payment, how much it will be for and how you will receive it, we don’t have access to this information. You can, however, find information about your payment and track it using the IRS’ “Get My Payment” site.
We can tell you that stimulus payments will be posted to members’ accounts the same day they are received, with the vast majority posting first thing in the morning.
Do I need to update my account information?
No, you do not. Whether you are a legacy TruStone or legacy Firefly member, stimulus payments should post without you needing to update your information with the IRS. This is true even for the legacy Firefly members who received new member numbers in the merger. The legacy Firefly routing number in combination with the legacy Firefly member number will map the deposit to the correct account.
Tax Season: Documents and Discount
Tax season is upon us! If you are enrolled in eStatements, you can find your tax documents in digital banking. Simply click the account you would like information on and select “Statements.” You may then have to agree to the new terms and conditions if you haven’t already. From there, you will find a list of statements and tax documents, if applicable.
If you receive paper statements, you should have received your tax form by now. Please contact us to request another copy if you need one.
Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the discount members receive on TurboTax® products!
Learn more about tax documents and the discount on our tax information page.
As an essential business, TruStone Financial continues to remain open for normal business hours, and all members have full access to our 23 branches in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We want to assure members that we continue to follow the CDC’s latest guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In addition to implementing social distancing measures in our branches and corporate center, we are continuously sanitizing shared spaces and frequently-touched items.
A note on masks: Currently, all branches require that staff and members wear masks while inside of branches and maintain proper social distancing, per city and state ordinances. Be aware that staff can ask members to temporarily remove masks in order to properly identify them.
For those who would prefer not to visit a branch at this time, we offer a number of convenient ways to bank remotely.
