(Plymouth, Minn). January 14, 2014 – TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union recently made a generous donation of more than $3,300 to Second Harvest Heartland.
Employees at TruStone Financial raised money by donating items for gift baskets. More than 20 baskets were created and raffled during the credit union employee holiday party. This donation will provide nearly 10,000 meals to hungry families, children and seniors in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
“Our employees understand the importance of making charitable contributions and take advantage of many different opportunities to give back to their communities. Teaming up with their co-workers and donating money to Second Harvest is just one of the many ways,” said Larry Bourgerie, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. “TruStone Financial commends them for their generosity in 2013.”
TruStone Financial has a long history of charitable giving through programs such as their Charity Casual Day, where employees can dress in business casual attire for a minimum donation. In 2013 TruStone Financial and its employees donated more than $16,500 to local charities.
In 2012 alone, Second Harvest Heartland collected, warehoused and distributed more than 76 million pounds of food for those in need.
