TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union is saddened to announce the passing of long-time board member Fred Sulzbach. Fred joined what was then known as Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Credit Union in 1964. Within three years he began what ultimately became more than 50 years of uninterrupted service on the board of directors.
Fred held numerous roles on the board of directors, including terms as Treasurer and Chairman of the Board. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the credit union’s wholly-owned mortgage origination subsidiary. Fred had a passion for the credit union, its employees and its members, and he had an insatiable desire to make the credit union better.
Fred served with humility and did not seek recognition for his many years as a credit union volunteer. Nonetheless, sometimes it found him: the Minnesota Credit Union Network recognized Fred in 2017 as its Volunteer of the Year, an award given to those who demonstrate excellence in leadership and who embody the credit union mission.
“We are all mourning the sad news of Fred’s passing, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Fred’s contributions to this credit union truly are too many to list. We are thankful for his many years of service. We will miss him,” says Tim Bosiacki, CEO at TruStone Financial.
